The real app, with an example account
Sound familiar?
3,000 hours, a permit with a clock, and a form for every supervisor.
- “Will these hours even count?”
- Each week is checked against New York’s rules as you log it: 3,000 hours, at least 1,500 direct, and at least half direct in any setting where you do fewer than 3,000 hours. If the app can’t count a week, you see why now, not at the end. NYSED decides what it accepts.
- “When does my permit run out, and when do I ask to extend it?”
- The app keeps your permit’s dates. NYSED asks for an extension at least 60 days before it expires, so we email you 90 days ahead and again on that ask-by day.
- “I’m changing jobs. What does NYSED need?”
- The app walks you through it: which form, who sends it, and what to keep. Your hours from the old job stay in your record, and that supervisor’s Form 4B is ready right away.
- “Is my supervision enough?”
- New York asks for an average of one hour a week, or two hours every other week (79-9.3). NYSED’s board staff have said that applies in each setting, so the app shows your average at each job, as you go.
- “Do I need the diagnostic privilege?”
- No, it’s optional. If you want it, the app tracks its 2,000 hours from the weeks that qualify, and Form 4D comes with your part filled in once you hold your LMHC.

A note from the founder
“When I finished school, nobody handed me a map. Which form first? Who signs what? Did I even need the diagnostic privilege, and would my hours count toward it? Then my job changed, and every answer changed with it.
Licensure Hours is the map I wanted. I really hope it makes this easier for you.”
How it works
A minute a week, and nothing to piece together at the end
At the end, each supervisor signs a Form 4B with your dates and total hours. Keep the record as you go and that signature is quick, even years later.
- 1
You log a week
Direct, indirect and supervision hours. Most weeks look like the last one.
- 2
Your supervisor confirms, if you like
Optional. They get a link: no account, no password. Confirmed weeks make Form 4B quick to sign.
- 3
Your forms come filled in
Form 4 and each supervisor’s Form 4B, from your record. You and your supervisor sign and send.
Your limited permit
Your permit’s clock, watched for you
A limited permit lasts up to 24 months, and NYSED can extend it twice, 12 months each. Practicing on an expired permit isn't allowed, so the app keeps its dates in front of you.
- Email reminders before NYSED's ask-by day, 60 days before the permit expires
- What to send when you add a job, change supervisor or leave one
- When a job ends, the steps that stop the permit's clock, so its time is kept

The finish line
Forms 4 and 4B, filled in from your record
Form 4 lists every supervisor with their dates and clock hours. Each supervisor's Form 4B comes with your part done; they complete theirs and send it to NYSED.
- Form 4 and every supervisor's Form 4B, ready to sign
- Form 4D for the diagnostic privilege, once you're licensed
- Your Social Security number and birth date stay off: you add them and sign

The diagnostic privilege
Going for the diagnostic privilege? It’s included.
Optional, and your choice. The app counts its 2,000 hours from the weeks that qualify, shown on their own, and Form 4D for each supervisor comes with your part filled in once you’re licensed.
Pricing
Clear prices. No surprises.
Getting to your LMHC takes years. Tracking your hours shouldn’t become one more bill along the way.

Questions
Is this official?
No. We are independent and not affiliated with NYSED. Each step links NYSED’s own page or form, so you can check it yourself.
Do you submit my forms?
No. We fill in what we can from your record. You sign Form 4 and send it; each supervisor completes their part of Form 4B and sends it to NYSED themselves, as the form requires.
Does my supervisor have to confirm every week?
No. NYSED’s Form 4B asks your supervisor for your dates and total hours, once. Sending weeks along the way is optional: they get a link, need no account, and confirm in their browser.
I'm already partway through.
Add your permit and your job with its real start date, then fill in the weeks you’ve already worked.
I'm already licensed. Is this for me?
Yes, if you’re going for the diagnostic privilege. Choose it at setup, and the app tracks its 2,000 hours, and Form 4D comes with your part filled in.
What about the NCMHCE?
Exam prep for counselors isn’t here yet. The hours, the permit and the forms come first.
What does it keep about me?
Your hours, never client records. You can export everything, any time, and it’s yours to keep.
