Licensure Hours is operated by Avrohom A Pil, a sole proprietorship based in Brooklyn, New York.
By creating an account or using Licensure Hours (“the service”) you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. What the service is
Licensure Hours helps licensed master social workers in New York track the supervised experience required for the LCSW, and helps social workers prepare for the ASWB licensing exams. It provides:
- A weekly log of client-contact and supervision hours, by placement
- Progress calculations against the published NYSED requirements
- A way to send weeks to your supervisor for one-tap confirmation
- Filling of NYSED Form 4B and the psychotherapy log from your logged weeks, stating which were confirmed by your supervisor
- Exam prep: practice questions with explanations for the ASWB Masters and Clinical exams, and a practice plan built from your answers
2. What the service is not
- A substitute for legal or regulatory advice
- A supervisor, an employer, or a licensed provider of any kind
- An official NYSED system, or a guarantee that NYSED will accept your experience
- An official ASWB product, or a guarantee that you will pass an exam. Our practice questions are written by us, not taken from ASWB exams
- A health record, or a HIPAA-covered system
NYSED alone decides whether your experience qualifies. Our calculations follow its published rules as we understand them at the date above, and rules change.
3. Who may use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, including your license number, your placements, and your hours.
4. Your account
Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it. One person, one account.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Enter false or misleading hour records, or ask a supervisor to confirm hours they did not supervise
- Enter any client-identifying information (see section 6)
- Enter another person's details without their permission (see section 7)
- Access, alter or interfere with anyone else's data or with the service's security
- Use bots or scrapers, or resell or share access
- Use the service for anything unlawful
6. No client information
The service is designed to hold hours, not clients. Do not enter client names, initials, dates of birth, diagnosis codes, notes about sessions, or any government identifier. If you do so by accident, delete it immediately. We are not responsible for information you enter that the service was never meant to hold.
7. Your supervisor and other people you name
To work, the service needs your supervisor's name, license details and email, and in some cases a colleague's. When you enter them you confirm that you are entitled to share those details with us for this purpose and that the person expects to hear from us on your behalf.
What a confirmation is
When your supervisor confirms weeks through the link we send, that is a record between you and them that the hours look right. It is not a certification to NYSED. NYSED's own Form 4B is completed and signed separately by your supervisor, using the filled form the service prepares for you.
Supervisors and colleagues
A supervisor or colleague who opens a review link uses the service without an account. By confirming or flagging weeks they represent that they supervised, or are qualified to certify, the work described. They can ask us to stop contacting them at any time.
8. Trial, plans and billing
Free trial
Every account gets 30 days of full access, counted from the day your first placement is created. No card is needed. After that, recording new weeks with hours, sending reviews, and filling forms need a paid plan; a week you did not work is always free to record. Your record stays yours throughout: everything already logged remains visible, correctable and exportable whether or not you pay.
Plans and prices
Current prices and what each plan includes are on the . We may change prices for new purchases with 30 days' notice. We do not raise the price of a subscription you already hold.
Automatic renewal
The yearly plan renews automatically every year at the price for your plan until you cancel, and is charged to the payment method you gave the payment provider. The renewal terms, the price, and how to cancel are shown before you buy, you confirm them before checkout, and we email them to you after your first payment. The one-time plan and exam prep do not renew.
Exam prep
Exam prep is a one-time purchase for one exam, separate from the hours plans. The first 25 questions of each exam are free and need no card. Exam prep for one exam is $39; it is $29 if you have already paid for an hours plan or for exam prep for the other exam. Buying exam prep does not include the hours plans, and an hours plan does not include exam prep. There is no time limit on access while your account is open and the service offers exam prep. ASWB's own exam fee is separate and paid to ASWB.
Cancelling
You can cancel online at any time through the subscription portal linked from your Account page and from every receipt. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Payment provider
Purchases are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record. The sale is legally between you and them, they collect any applicable tax, and their terms apply to the payment itself. Their name appears on your card statement.
Refunds
If you are not satisfied with a first purchase of any plan, ask within 14 days of payment and we will refund it in full through the payment provider. This includes exam prep; a refund of exam prep ends access to that exam's questions beyond the free ones. Renewal charges and later requests are refunded only where the law requires. To ask, write to [email protected].
9. NYSED requirements are your responsibility
- NYSED's rules and forms change, and the service may lag behind a change
- You are responsible for checking the current requirements at op.nysed.gov
- Your supervisor decides what hours they will certify
- We are not responsible for a delayed or refused license application
10. Intellectual property
The service's software, text, design and marks belong to us or our licensors. NYSED's forms belong to NYSED; we fill copies of the official forms for your convenience and claim nothing in them. Our practice questions and explanations are ours; they are for your own study and may not be copied or shared. Your data is yours. You give us only the permission needed to store it, show it to you and the people you send it to, fill forms with it, and build your practice plan from it.
11. Privacy
How we handle information is set out in our , which is part of these Terms.
12. No warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that our calculations or practice questions are complete or correct, that a filled form will be accepted by NYSED without change, that your supervisor will confirm anything, that you will pass an exam, or that you will be licensed.
13. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including delayed licensure, a failed or retaken exam, lost income, re-performed supervised experience, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain of these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
Keep your own copy of your hours record: Export in Settings gives you the whole of it as a file at any time.
14. Indemnity
You will cover us for claims and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your breach of these Terms, from information you entered that you had no right to enter, or from your violation of law or of another person's rights.
15. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent; export first.
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if a regulator raises a complaint about your use, if we suspect fraud or harm, or if you do not pay. Unless the law prevents it, we will tell you why and give you 30 days to export your record before it is deleted.
16. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms in a way that affects your rights, we will email your account address at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new Terms. If you do not, delete your account before then.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Talk to us first
Before starting any formal proceeding, write to [email protected] describing the problem. We will try to resolve it with you within 30 days.
Small claims
Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court in New York County, New York, instead of arbitration.
Arbitration
Any other dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the Consumer Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association, in New York County or by video, and we will pay the arbitration fees above what a court filing would have cost you. Claims may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a class or representative action.
Opting out
You may opt out of arbitration by emailing [email protected] within 30 days of creating your account, with the subject “Arbitration opt-out”. If you do, disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York County, and the rest of these Terms still apply.
18. Everything else
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. We may assign this agreement to a successor that takes over the service; you may not assign it.
